Hello, aspiring physician here! i am part of a underrepresented minority in the united states who suffer from inequality in healthcare. what are some ways as a rising senior to help bring awareness and become an activist for this cause? what are also some extracurriculars i can complete to strengthen my application as a rising senior who plans on attending medical school?
I recommend joining advocacy organizations that are fighting for healthcare equity. An established organization will give you the resources, training, platform, and community you will need to be an activist. The Health Equity Initiative would be a great group to join. Hope this helps!
@youfoundwill, There is this one club I'm in called HOSA, (Health Occupational Student Association) I highly recommend it, they have hundreds of competitions at the international level if you are interested. Or another option is to start your own club that aims for healthcare equality.
