Getting accepted is definitely doable! Your academics of course could be improved, but they already similar to the stats of accepted students as they stand. UPitt, like every college, is also looking for applicants who shine in a lot more areas than just academics. Having a creative and personal Common App essay, supplemental essays that show that you have done your research into Pitt, extracurriculars that are both high tier and demonstrate a spike, and good teacher recommendations are all things that Pitt is looking for. Hope this helps!
It depends on what classes you took, and what bad class you had. If it was an AP or IB class, the school might be more lenient and take that into consideration. To make up for the bad GPA, I would suggest to study hard for the SAT and get a score of around 1400. Make sure you have good extracurriculars too.
If the class that lowered your gpa was a really difficult class (an AP or IB or honors), then they may give you some grace (unsure about major colleges, I just know that some are kind like that). Also, there may be a place to explain some of the circumstances on the main application. Most colleges are fairly clear on admission requirements if you really dig in their website. Wish I could be of more help! Good luck on your SAT!
