I am interested in going into the medical field. Since I am a sophomore, I have a few more years to decide exactly what I am interested in. What are some extracurricular activities that I should consider trying to know if I am genuinely interested in the medical field?
Hey! I think one of the best places to go is the hospital or wherever you're most interested in (since there are many subcategories of the medical field) and see if you can find an internship there. Internships are pretty good extracurriculars and listing a pre-med-related internship shows you're interested and willing to commit to that field. You could check out Kaiser's interning programs and see if you're interested in signing up next year (as they only accept high school juniors and seniors). You could also do community service that's related to the medical field. During those volunteering hours you probably won't get to do any life-saving things but you'll just be helping out staff, talking to patients, and/or providing information to visitors. I don't know where you live but you could see if you can find anything on this website https://nursejournal.org/resources/internships-and-volunteer-opportunities/ where you can browse some opportunities by state. Collegevine also has a post about some summer activities you can pursue/try if you're aiming for a doctor: https://blog.collegevine.com/summer-activities-for-the-future-bsmd-applicant/
Good luck!!
You are a 10th grader so start volunteering at a hospital, doctors, office or medical clinic. This not only demonstrates your desire for the medical field but also can lead to an internship, provide great candidates for future recommendation letters, and helps develops your skills in the area.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my question! I will definitely look into finding some pre-med-related internships and looking through the websites you mentioned.
