Hi. My 10th grade GPA was a 3.6-3.7 but I’m aiming for at least a 3.9-4.0 my grade 11 years. Would I still have a chance at UCLA? Thank you
Hi @hxoqa, thanks for asking this question.
The average GPA at UCLA is 3.92 for the Common Data Set 2021-22. About 55.4% of applicants had 4.0 GPAs, and 36.4% had GPAs between 3.75 and 3.99.
So yes there still is a good chance of you getting accepted at UCLA. Just keep in mind that UCLA is the most competitive public university in the United States with a 10% acceptance rate. 90% of applicants get rejected and many of them do have perfect GPAs and great course rigor and ECs.
If I were not the strongest applicant at UCLA, I might pick a few majors from the most under-subscribed majors. I would not pick for example anything Pre-Med like Biology, Math or Engineering or Social Sciences like Economics or Political Science. Maybe something like a language, history, journalism, or linguistics.
Good luck.
