Can college students give AP and CLEP exams? If yes, which is easier?
Are CLEP exams held only once a year, just like AP?
What are the resources available for preparation? How much would it cost including all study materials and the exam itself?
College students can take AP and CLEP exams. AP exams are easier because they are more geared towards high school students and there are more free review materials out there for them.
While you can only take AP exams once per year, CLEP exams can be taken year-round through in-person or virtual proctoring.
The main review resource for CLEP exams is the official study guide, which you can order for $24.99. The book has practice questions for all CLEP exams. Beyond that, each CLEP exam costs $90. You can buy similar prep books for AP exams, but there are plenty of free materials out there too. AP exams cost $93 unless you get a fee waiver from a high school.
Hope this helps!
