Should I enter Multivariable Calculus as an AP/IB class on CV's Chancing Calculator?
Answered

I took Algebra II Honors my freshman year and earned a 99%, Precalculus Honors my sophomore year and earned a 97%, and Calculus BC junior year. Unfortunately, due to extenuating circumstances (which my Guidance Counselor will explain in my application and I will possibly include in my personal essay), I missed a ridiculous amount of school junior year and had to drop nearly all my classes--including Calculus BC. Thankfully, my situation improved. I am self-studying BC this summer and should be able to get back on track academically this year. I plan on taking my school's Multivariable Calculus course and aiming for a 95% or higher. For greater context, the Multivariable Calculus class has a locally designed curriculum; it is not accredited by CollegeBoard or the IB program. However, it is what most students take after Calculus BC in my district, and it is "equivalent to Calculus III in some schools of higher education" (cited from my school's Program of Studies). I will also take the AP Calculus BC Exam at the end of this school year to earn a 4 or 5 (hopefully a 5) and receive college credit or advanced standing.

In the comments below is the full course description per my school's 2022-2023 Program of Studies. Because of the character limit, it is split into two parts.

Sure, enter it on your CV profile and see if it is helpful to your percentage range on your college list if you haven't done that already.

Remember, that the CV profile is a tool for running what-if scenarios for yourself. No one else sees this so put whatever you want into your profile to see how you can improve your chances at certain schools

Good luck.
