Admissions Advice

Chance of getting into UIUC, U of Michigan Ann Arbor and UW Madison
Answered

I am giving finals for IB exam on October 2022, and I'm confident that I'll get a 38 or 39/45 and I already have a SAT score of 1500. IELTS : 7/9

(I believe my IB score adds up to a GPA of 3.7 as my predicted was 37/42).

My intended major is Computer Science, but I don't mind applying undeclared and then choosing a major later on (if that will benefit me in admissions, as CS is a competitive course).

I have listed 10 extracurricular activities, which ColllegeVine claims to be "Strong".

Overall, my 9th score isn't great, scored a 90% in 10th boards and got a 32/42 in 11th grade of ibdp.

Hi @aryan7,

Thanks for your question. You seem like a strong candidate for UIUC and UW Madison. Your GPA is on the low side for UMich and being a CS major. No issue with your SAT or IELTS score, your IB composite would be stronger if you can get a 40-41.

I have questions for you. Are you an international student? Are you applying for financial aid? I don't understand your 3.7 GPA. Do you have a 3.7 GPA? Or are you guessing that? What kind of real grades do you have on your official transcript then? Are they based on a 100-point scale or letter grades or something else?
