Hi All! Should I submit a 1490 SAT to NYU or 3 APs: 5 on APCSA; 5 on AP Physics 1; and 5 on APUSH? (Planning to major in CS)

Regarding the AP scores, I would go ahead and submit them. Adding 3 5s to your list of academic accolades will do nothing but help you. As far as the SAT, it’s probably a judgement call. Normally, a 1490 would be right on par with what NYU is looking for, but after going test optional in recent years, their average SAT has soared. This is mainly because only the applicants who excel at the SAT are reporting. I think a 1490 is right on the cusp of what you want, but a 1500+ might be preferable. That being said, your demographic affects how they’ll interpret this score. If you’re BIPOC or FGLI, then I think you should probably submit.

I second this. Specifically for NYU, I think you would minimally have to break 1500, preferably 1550+, to submit a competitive SAT score. Your AP scores are stellar, though. It's your call since that's still a great SAT.
