How many Letters of Rec to submit?

Hi! I'm a current senior applying to colleges right now. Only one of the schools I am applying to requires two letters of rec, so I have asked two teachers (one of them being my debate coach) to write me letters. I've already assigned one of the teachers (not my debate coach) to all of my schools. However, should I assign the other teacher, who is my coach, to all of my other schools as well? And if so, should I assign her under teachers or "other recommenders"?

Thank you!

If you have a good relationship or know that your coach can write you a strong recommendation, I think you should assign your coach to all your schools. You may spend more time with your debate coach than your other teachers, so definitely, yes.

Unless your coach is also your teacher academically (core subjects, electives, or foreign languages), I would assign them as "Other Recommender".

All colleges limit the number of recommendation letters. Have your high school teachers be 1st and 2nd recommenders. 3rd could be external if the college allows or go with your school counselor recommendation letter.

I would definitely do ask your debate teacher for a rec letter. If you have a good relationship with your her and do well in the subject, it would be a waste not to showcase that. Plus, another rec letter never hurts. Someone else who knows you well and could highlight new and different positive traits other than your regular teacher is a useful asset.

If the coach is out of school, categorize her as other recommenders, otherwise I'd do teachers.

Good luck, hope this helped.
