I am applying as a transfer student to Vanderbilt, and Vanderbilt is test-optional. I got a 32 composite score on the ACT, and I am wondering if I should submit this score to help my application. I am not sure if it is good enough for Vanderbilt to be honest, so any help would be appreciated.
As a transfer applicant, most of your admissions criteria will be based on your College Performance which is your College GPA and the Course Rigor of your College courses, not so much your HS transcript and test scores.
I think a 32 ACT is a good ACT score for a Vanderbilt transfer applicant so I would submit it. You probably took it 2-3 years ago when the Vandy 50% range was slightly lower anyway like 32-35.
Hi! What I would suggest is looking at the average ACT score of those who were accepted, and if yours falls below that, don't submit it. Best of luck!
I recommend applying test-optional. Since Vanderbilt has become more competitive over the years, and only applicants with top scores submit their results in a test-optional environment, a 34 is the minimum score that will help you application - anything lower will only be a negative. Not submitting a score will not count against you. Instead, a good way to look at it is that you will get 0 points in the admissions process instead of -1 or +1. Hope this helps!
Fellow Vanderbilt applicant here.
Vanderbilt's middle 50% ACT is 34-36, so your 32 would be in the lower 25% of all the applicants. I would say your best bet is test optional.
