When should send my FAFSA to my colleges I'm applying to?
Answered

I'm a senior in high school. I will complete and submit my FAFSA form in a couple days. But I was wondering when I should send my FAFSA forms to the schools I'm applying to? Before I submit the application? After? After accepted admission?

Your FAFSA is a super important piece of information, not just for economic reasons, but also for more subtle things colleges look out for.

1 - The fact that you are receiving aid adds security to your application because it helps lessen the chances of you not going due to financial reasons.

2 - It shows responsibility and good economic skills. Imagine NOT taking the FAFSA. universities will take you more seriously when you show how realistic but determined you can be.

3 - Added financial aid. The FAFSA gives money for all sorts of reasons, and since most colleges want diversity and a well-mixed student body, your FAFSA information will let universities see where and why you need financial aid, and may give additional money.

4 - Don't be ashamed of it. Everyone knows college is expensive, especially the colleges themselves.

5 - Grades, experience, clubs, all of those help you stand out, but the more unique you are, the more you show up on their radar. The more information you give out, the more they pay attention to you.

Hope this is helpful!!!

You should submit your FAFSA as soon as you complete it! It doesn't matter if you have not applied to or if you have been accepted to a school yet, you can still send the FAFSA to them. The sooner you apply, the higher your chances are to receive more aid, including grants.
