I'm considering applying to Haverford. I have a low but not 0 chance based on my school's stats. I would be best off applying ED as it would generally be my top choice college (distance from home, academics, connections), but my family has a $155k income and will get little aid, both financial and merit.
We probably couldn't afford the cost without loans, which might make it not worth it, especially since I want an MBA post-grad. I can't guarantee that I will land an amazing job and magically pay off all my debt. I know that for ED-heavy colleges like Tulane, where I'm also applying (EA), you may have a higher chance of getting in on ED but usually get far worse aid. I don't want to be bound to this, since again, even if it will be "affordable" it will pose a financial burden on me and my family. Should I apply EA or ED?
I would apply for Early Action. Early Decision is seen as a binding contract that you will go to that school if accepted. Early Action is similar in the fact that you apply early however, it is not binding. So, if you cannot afford that school you are not stuck in a bad situation.
