Hi, my best subjects in high school were math, psychology, and physiology. Stuff that is also interesting to me is neuroscience and writing. I want to go to healthcare/medical type of field, but I don't know if I can handle the rigorous classes of medical school. I like environments that aren't too stressful bc honestly I do absolutely terrible under pressure (I think a little bit of pressure is fine, but if someone is telling me to hurry up and do something then I would probably break) and I'm also an introvert (maybe slightly ambivert). Right now I'm in community college but I don't know what other classes to explore to help me expand/learn more of my interests. Any tips/career ideas would be helpful!
I think a Chiropractor would be a good career choice for you. While it can be a stressful job, that is usually due to extended hours, something that is prevalent in every medical field. Overall, your job description is not that demanding.
Also from the CalEdu website "Chiropractic care is appealing to patients because chiropractors use nonsurgical methods of treatment and do not prescribe drugs. Employment of chiropractors is projected to grow 12% through 2026, faster than the average for all occupations, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics."
You will have job assurance, you won't have to do stressful surgeries and prescriptions. You don't necessarily need to go med school and can go to Chiropractor school instead. You will deal with physiology on a daily basis and pressure will be minimal.
hello guy! you can specialize in anything, I can advise you something about organic chemistry, I know a company for the production of cannabis products https://mmjcardonline.com/ , the company is official and luxury, after training you can try to become part of the team
It sounds like you'd fit in great as a kinesiology major! A degree in kinesiology would also allow for many healthcare-related jobs that are low-stress (and especially appealing if you happen to be into sports!) including sports medicine, dietician, physical therapy, etc.
To keep this community safe and supportive:
I don't know if being a chiropractor is a good fit for me (I have actually gone to see one a few years back and thinking about it now, the job seems okayish), but thank you for your suggestion! I'll look into it a bit more and see if this is a good career choice.
