I’ve never been the best at school. I lived in the states until I was seven were I was apart of the gifted kids program. I’m talking student of the month, straight honor roll student, I even got the principals award but then I moved to the Caribbean where the education was much more advanced and the came back seven years after. My freshman and sophomore years consisted of me slacking off because the work given was work I had already learned years prior. Unfortunately I am a person that loses interest after having to do things continuously through the years. At the end of my sophomore year I set my mind to enlisting into the Air Force after graduation but now after really looking at different colleges and that kind of stuff, I realized that I actually may want to college. The problem is my weighted average is 80% and I just feel like that is not good enough for colleges. Any advice on what to do get better before I start college apps?
The best path for you is to enroll in a community college and complete all your core requirements and get As in them so you can apply to a better college after 1 or 2 years of community college. If you have a 4.0 GPA and good recommendations, you will be able to overcome the hurdle you currently have right now trying to get into a good college with an 80% GPA.
Depending on where you live you might be able to enroll in a community college that has an auto-admit program into a better university. I know that in California, some of their community colleges give you advanced standing with certain GPAs to enroll straight into UCLA or other UC schools.
Good luck.
