If you are a sophomore, then you still have another semester of sophomore year and 3 more before you apply to colleges. If you are a junior, you only have 3 more semesters.

So your max GPA if you are a sophomore is (((3.78)X3)+(4.00X4))/7 = 3.905

If you are a Junior then your max GPA is (((3.78)X4)+(4.00X3))/7 = 3.874

Hope that helps you.

You can actually game this out with a spreadsheet. Make a list of all classes you have taken. Next to each, for the grade translate A = 4, B = 3 , C = 2, D = 1, F = 0. Then add this and divide by the number of classes. You should get your existing GPA. Now list the classes you plan to take and the grade you want to make. Using the same math (add the points and divide by the number of classes), you can figure out your absolute best by plugging in As for all remaining grades.
