Should I apply test optional?
Answered

I am planning on applying to schools like U Michigan, Georgia Tech, Purdue, and UIUC for computer science. Currently, I have a 1490 SAT, M: 790, R: 700. If the schools offer test-optional should I apply for test-optional?

Since you are applying for comp sci, I think you should submit your scores to those schools as you have a near-perfect math score. Your score is above Purdue's 75th percentile and is also above average at UMich.

1490 is a great SAT score regardless of your demographic. There are no schools I can think of where I wouldn't submit this score including MIT and Caltech.

Good luck.
