Does the order I list my CommonApp activities in matter?
Answered

I'm putting together my CommonApp, and I'm realizing I'm not sure of the order of importance of my activities. Do colleges pay a lot of attention to the order?

I'm also wondering if I should structure the order to highlight my spike (public policy/IR -ish). For example, should I put Model UN above another activity that I spend a bit more time on, because Model UN is more relevant to my intended area of study?

Yes, order matters. List your activities in the order of importance to you. If you feel Model UN is the most important, then keep it first.

Hope this helps!

Common App wants you to list your activities in order of importance to you. Put your stronger activities first. If Model UN is what is important to you as its related to your degree, I advise putting that first.

Yes, I also asked my counselor the same question and she said that it does matter. You should put the activities that matter to you most first, as they are the ones that you would typically be more participating and involved in.
