I am in my senior year and I am taking AP Calc, D.E. Cisco (counts as 4 D.E. classes), Academic English, Academic Government, and Academic Computer Science. I already applied to 2 colleges that I want to go to: Purdue and UMD ( I did EA). I am a bit worried that my class rigor for this year will decrease my chances of getting into my colleges. Out of 4 years of high school, I took 4 APs, 4 D.Es, and 6 honors. Do you guys think I am fine and class rigor in senior year doesn't really have a big impact? Also, the reason why I am taking easy classes this year is that my counselor mixed up my schedule with another student and now I can't change my classes. Thanks.
Hi @Homan710
You can't change your classes so just try to get the best grades in this easier course load and use your free time productively and effectively. You have a lot more time to focus on college applications and essays so do that.
I’m not sure how much it will affect your chances, but if there is an “explanation box” for anything you should explain why your courseload is easier and out of your control (the school guidance department messed up and you can’t switch back).
