Can I apply for regular decision after I apply for early action?
Answered

Suppose I get rejected for early action in University Z. Would I be able to re-apply to the SAME University again through regular decision after changing my application? Would this be a good idea? Pros and cons?

Hi @flora!

I looked at a lot of university websites, and every single one that has early action/decision explicitly mentions that you cannot reapply for regular decision in the same application cycle after being rejected. I don't think there are any exceptions to this, but if there are, it won't be a good idea to do so. If admissions officers think you are competitive enough but need more information, they will defer your application to regular decision rather than rejecting it.

Hope this helps!
