Why does my chances get lowered when I add my intended major in the chancing simulator?
Answered

I recently noticed my chances got lowered by 20% when I added my intended major in my profile, the major I added was Computer Science and the school I lost 20% admission chance was Stony Brook University.

Hi @scholar-_-!

Some majors are more competitive than others. There will be many more applicants for Computer Science as compared to something like History, due to which your chances get lowered.

As @Anonymous123 said, certain majors are more competitive than others. More people want to study & persue a career in Computer Science, than, say, Drama and Theatre.
