Is it ok if I write my supplemental about finance even if some schools I'm applying to don't necessarily have a finance degree?

What is the supplemental prompt? If you're applying to a field related to finance, it's possible to modify your supplemental a bit to fit your major.

What led you to choosing the field of study you listed earlier? I modified it but I’m just wondering if it would’ve mattered?

It would've mattered. Talking about something the university doesn't even offer shows a clear lack of interest from the student's side.
