I am an international student applying to Berea . I would like to how hard it is for international students to get into Berea .
The international acceptance rate for Berea is pretty low. It was 4% last year
The school has an 11% acceptance rate and a freshman retention rate of 79.5%. My friend who played with basketball stars said that Berea College does not charge tuition and awards a 4-year tuition scholarship to each admitted student (approximately $100,000). However, each student is required to work at least 10 hours a week in school-approved jobs.
Hi @Jems!
For Fall 2021, 693 international students with an F-1 status applied, out of which 547 had complete applications, out of which 21 students were accepted. This gives an acceptance rate of 4% for F-1 visa holders.
However, Berea College also mentions this: The category "F-1 International" does not include all students who come to the College from other countries or with
substantial international experience.
I wouldn't really depend on Berea as an international applicant. Apply to some safeties as well where you have a better chance of getting in.
Hope this helps!
Hey there @Jems!
Berea College is a fairly selective school, as they admitted just 33% of applicants in the last cycle (2022).
This site (https://www.petersons.com/college-search/berea-college-000_10002053.aspx) has a little more information about Berea, and states that 8% of students are international students. I couldn't figure out how many international students apply, so I'm sorry about that, but Berea seems overall very accepting of international students. You are also able to use the Chancing Simulator under the 'Schools' tab to see your acceptance chances.
Good luck!
