I'm a little confused on what path to take after an environmental science degree
If you are interested in a variety of different career paths, working at a non-profit after graduation could be a great place to start! Non-profits are some of the largest employers of environmental science majors. Non-profit teams are usually small and strive to make the most of their resources, so any role you start with will allow you explore many different kinds of work. After a few years of doing a meaningful job to further causes you care about, you could re-enter the job market with new skills and a better understanding of the roles you enjoy. Hope this helps!
I have a friend 5 years older, who went to Columbia U. undergrad for Env. Science and then did a gap year and worked as a Research Assistance with CUNY (City University of NY) working on their Pandora spectrometer network while applying to PhD programs. She's now doing a PhD at UC Berkeley in Env.Science and is a teacher's assistant as well for core curriculum undergrad courses.
With a PhD you can either stay in academia or work for a research institute or a high-tech firm that deals with the Environment (energy sector, alternative fuels, clean up, renewables, or other)
