accidental test scores
Answered

I accidentally submitted my SAT scores to a school through the common app scores section. I intended to apply test-optional, so I emailed admissions and they said they will not consider my scores. Will my scores still affect my admission, since the scores are still there on my application, even though they emailed me that they won't consider them?

Hi @id317!

Admissions officers know that applicants make such mistakes, so if you've emailed them regarding this and they said that they won't consider your scores, they'll definitely ignore your scores. Your application won't be impacted.

Hope this helps!

No, if they specifically emailed you that they won't consider your scores....then they won't consider your scores. Admissions officers will not lie to you. Suppose you cut your Pizza into 8 slices. If you remove the SAT score, the pizza is now basically 7 slices. You still have the same amount of pizza, but each slice became bigger since you cut it into 7 slices instead of 8. So, don't worry.
