How come College Vine lists The University of Tennessee as a safety for me when my SAT scores are super low but my GPA and rigor of classes are high? The program was correct so far as I have been accepted to the schools that were listed as safeties for me so far (still waiting on a few), but I feel like they were safeties because I applied Test-Optional. UT Knoxville is no longer test optional so I don't see how I will still be accepted.
My guess would be that they're assuming the admissions officers will look at more than just your SAT score. If your GPA and class rigor are up there, the UT people will probably just assume that you weren't on your game or aren't the best test taker. (That sounds harsh but it's not meant to be, it's a common problem) Also, if your actual SAT was close to their standard, you'll probably be fine.
Hi @nick0401!
What do you mean by super low? How far off is your score from the 25th percentile SAT of the University of Tennessee? GPA and course rigor are much more important than SAT scores, so that's probably why the chancing shows it as a safety.

Thanks. That's what I'm guessing.
