I’m a current junior in high school and my dream school is Notre Dame. Overall I’m a solid student mostly As and Bs in as many honors and ap classes i can take. I should end with around 10 honors classes taken and 9-10 AP. I should end my senior year with around a 4.4-4.5 Weighted or around a 3.8 UW gpa. I am heavily involved with extracurriculars, sports, clubs, captain of both hockey and lacrosse, jv and varsity, etc. I have 3 people in my intermediate family who went to Notre Dame and have applied for Leadership Seminars and I plan to apply for Summer Scholars. I understand that I am likely an average/lower end of applicants to Notre Dame and I was wondering how much do they take legacy/summer programs into account particularly if the program is at ND. Thanks!
Hey there @Irishfan!
I did a quick Google search and this is what came up:
'[Notre Dame] does favor those with a legacy connection; 28% of the 2021-'22 freshman were legacies.'
So yes, being a legacy student does help with admission to Notre Dame. I couldn't find an answer about the summer program question, though.
