I’ve been accepted into both SUNY Oswego and SUNY Potsdam, and I can’t pick between the two. I’ve visited both and followed all of the steps for choosing a college, but I LOVE them both, I don’t know how to decide.
It’s not like they’re the same, it’s just I love both of them and would be happy at either. I need help!!! Someone pick for me!!!
Congratulations on your acceptances! Here are a few things to think about to break the tie:
- Which college offers you the best financial aid package?
- Which location do you like more?
- Does one college offer a particular major program, class, or student club that sounds interesting?
- What is the campus culture like at each school?
- Consider each college's ranking - CollegeVine ranks SUNY Oswego higher up than SUNY Potsdam
- What is your gut feeling telling you?
Hope this helps!
Both SUNY Oswego and SUNY Potsdam are excellent colleges within the SUNY system, but the choice between the two ultimately depends on your personal preferences and goals.
SUNY Oswego is located on the shores of Lake Ontario and offers a range of programs in areas such as business, communication, education, and the arts. It also has a strong science department, with a particular focus on atmospheric and earth sciences, which may be relevant if you are interested in studying oceanography. Oswego is also known for its active student life and opportunities for internships and research experiences.
SUNY Potsdam is located in the Adirondack Mountains and has a reputation for its music and teacher education programs. It also offers programs in areas such as business, sciences, and the arts. Potsdam has a smaller student body than Oswego, and may offer a more intimate and personalized learning environment. Potsdam also has a strong commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship, which may be relevant to an interest in oceanography.
Ultimately, it's important to consider factors such as location, program offerings, campus culture, and career goals when choosing a college. It may be helpful to visit both campuses, talk to current students and faculty, and weigh the pros and cons of each before making a decision.
Hope this helps!
