UT Austin Nursing
Answered

Hello, I am trying to figure out what colleges I am going to apply to next year and would like to know how competitive UT Austin's School of Nursing is compared to other University departments like natural sciences/liberal arts/engineering. Also how competitive is UT Nursing compared to other schools like Texas A&M Nursing and TCU Nursing. Will having a GPA of 3.75 and being in the top 11% of my class be enough to have a change of getting into UT Nursing?

Side note: Does anyone know what Texas colleges have the best BSN programs?

Hi @lrgdaman!

UT Nursing might not be as competitive as Cockrell or CNS, but it's still competitive. The best nursing programs in Texas are offered by UT Austin, UT Health Houston, Texas Tech, and Texas A&M. Admissions depend on a lot of factors other than just your GPA and rank. I suggest exploring more options since UT Austin is tough to get into if you're not a Texas resident in the top 6% of your class. Texas A&M follows the top 10% rule, so it's more of a target than UT Austin. Texas Tech would be a safety.

Hope this helps!
