VANDERBILT's implied acceptance rate for the Class of 2027 is 5.61% a historical low !!!

Today Vandy announced a 4.2% RD acceptance rate based on 41501 applicants and 1763 admissions. If you add the ED1/ED2 data to the mix you have 47120 applicants and 2645. Since they only expect to matriculate 1600 students, the future implied yield rate will be 60.5% is very good for an Elite College. Since Vandy now has entered the realm of similar admit rates as Duke, Brown, UPenn, and UChicago, I wonder what the matriculation mix is going to be. Personally, I think more Conservative students will head to Nashville, and Liberal students will head toward large metropolitan cities. Given the recent mass shooting in Nashville and the state-wide ban on drag shows, If you are LGBTQ-affirming or supportive, spending 4 years in Tennessee may not be your first choice.
