Admissions Advice

If I'm doing dual enrollment next year, should I still take summer courses?
Answered

I have friends who were in Dual Enrollment, and while one's advice was to take English and math courses during the summer, the other said since I'm doing dual enrollment there's no need. I'm just curious as to if I would benefit from these courses/if they would go on my transcript.

The answer largely depends on the specific dual enrollment program you are enrolled in and your own personal academic goals. Taking summer courses may be advantageous if you feel like you need extra assistance or want to advance in your academic career. Furthermore, if the courses you take over the summer coincide with your academic interests or career goals, they may enable you to acquire knowledge and skills that will be useful to you in the long run. However, if you feel that you are adequately prepared for your dual enrollment courses and do not need the extra coursework, then there may not be a need to take summer courses. The best course of action for your academic journey should ultimately be decided in consultation with your academic advisor or school counselor. I hope this helps!
