About the extracurricular activities..

I am presently in India ..in a area where where there is less chances of presuming my dream hobbies and extracurricular..but even then through some of my relatives ..I started learning programming online.. whether this can act as my extracurricular..for my college application to Stanford University..as I don't have any other to Persue..I got a SAT score of 1590.and going to take IELTS this September.Whether this will be enough for my application.. please help me..with some suggestions to get into Stanford....

Colleges understand that international students won't have traditional extracurriculars. Learning programming online is great though, and it absolutely counts! Your SAT score is also strong.

Unfortunately, international students generally have a harder time getting into American colleges. There's also no "magic" formula you need to apply to get in. Strong academics and test scores are a good foundation, but extracurriculars and essays are also important. Try to pursue some activities deeply, like your programming. See if you can achieve something quantifiable, like creating a website or an app, or doing a competition. Spend lots of time on your essays and learning how to write them, as they're really different from standard essays.
