CC before medical school

Hi, so I am a junior and will be attending CC due to financial considerations before transferring to a large 4 year university and then going to medical school. I plan to major in health sciences with a minor in public health and medical ethics. I was wondering, first of all, how medical school view CC credits, especially if they make up most of my credits besides for my major and minor requirements (which I will do at the 4 year). Also, how do I decide which classes to take in CC? I'm not planning to get an associate's, so it's not like I'm aiming for anything specific. Can I just take whatever I want as long as they're transferable, as my med school prerequisites will be done in 4 year as part of my major requirements? Should I do mostly gen ed kind of stuff (basic writing, math, some sciences, humanities)?
