essay idea advice

I am a twin and I was thinking of writing my personal statement on something related to that but unsure of how to angle it. Does anyone have any advice? Or personal experience writing a twin essay?

I would approach this subject with caution because your goal should be to separate yourself from your twin (as an individual) and show self-growth. You can write it beautifully, but you have to be careful. There are already many twin essays out there and you want to stand out.

Hey there @milklover321!

Being a twin wasn't something you chose, but it probably shaped your childhood experiences in a certain way. Maybe you could pick a facet of your identity that was a choice (activities you persue, chosen major, something you like, etc.) and compare your experience with that to being a twin, which wasn't a choice. You could talk about how you and your twin are different, but may be perceived as similar because you're twins.

Hello! Random idea, but you could talk about how you developed your own personality and separate life from your twin! Wishing you the best!
