Wharton’s Pre-Baccalaureate Program (PLEASE HELP)

I am an 11th-grade international who got accepted into the Wharton Pre-Baccalaureate Program at UPenn for this Summer, and I was wondering how selective the admission rate was for the program and if is it actually worth the $4K (it’s online btw)? It's a credit program with courses in undergraduate-level finance and investments. The application process seems a little competitive with short essays, recommendation letters... Will this online summer program help my uni application process (I want to apply to top business schools such as wharton, stern, etc.) or is it just a waste of time and money? I would really appreciate your advice. Thank you

Wait, it's online and $4K, that seems like a ripe off but their website does say that its a selective program: https://globalyouth.wharton.upenn.edu/pre-baccalaureate-program/admissions/#:~:text=Admission%20to%20Wharton's%20Pre%2Dbaccalaureate,3.5%20unweighted%20GPA%2C%20or%20equivalent.

If your application is lacking activities I think it's a great thing to get into especially because it's easier on your parents as traveling would not be an issue but if you can't afford $4K then either apply for financial aid or do an externship or internship. Personally, from what I have read any activity that you do helps your application and this one is giving you credit so take it.

Check out this website: https://www.bestcolleges.com/blog/pre-college-summer-programs-students/

It talks about how a pre college program doesn't boost your application however it shows interest.

This to sum it up, it's never a waste of time because you are doing something good. Money is somewhat wasted but if you get credits that can be transferred to the college you get into then that pretty good. I hope this helps and let me know if you have any other questions.
