Admissions Advice

Geades

So my friend just got his 6 or 7th an one of the 2 and he’s been pretty sad lately and I’ve tried to cheer him up but he just is too sad and saying he’s ruined his chances at a good school? What should I tell him to make him feel better and also what’s like the minimum number of B’s you should have to get admissions to top schools?

From what I was told, there isn't a specific amount of B's you can get until you won't be guaranteed acceptance depending on the college/university. However, it's recommended to aim for getting more A's than B's.

In the scenario of your friend feeling sad, I would say to try to cheer him up and encourage him the best you can. You could try to cheer him up by reminding him not to stress too much and that there are always ways he can improve. Improving doesn't mean his chances are ruined but that there are alternative ways to better his future outcomes(ex. school/grades).
