Does outdoor track count as a varsity sport, and if I win a medal can I put it on my college application?

I am a freshman whose considering transferring by sophomore year, I’d like to stay in track all 4 years and hopefully win more medals

Does your school consider it a varsity sport? Usually if it's the highest level you can compete in at your school, colleges will think of it like varsity.

Medals can definitely go on your application, usually in the description you'll add to the sport's entry on your activities list. You can also fit them in the awards/honors section, though that one is supposed to be more for academics.
