Admissions Advice

Can you please help me to know what kind of extracurriculars should i develop in next 2 years?

I am from India with an above average CGPA studying in SSC BOARD. We dont have any AP exams here and I dont have a strong hold in extracurriculars. I am planning to have my career in commerce and business studies and is aiming for harvard. I really would appreciate your help. It would mean a lot to me. I am in grade 10th.

Hi! Grade 10 student here as well who was also struggling with this and while I'm no expert, I keep seeing admissions officers constantly saying to find a "theme" and something you're genuinely passionate about (something you can talk about for hours). You could make a passion project where you involve a large part of your community or find out something new. As someone who likes commerce and business, maybe mentoring younger students in anything you learn in commerce or business might be pretty cool. If you feel like that's a good long-term project, then find smaller ECs you can do throughout the year like internships, competitions, and summer programs that cater to your interests (those can be just as strong sometimes).

If it helps, I love agriculture and climate. I created an efficient composting system in my school as a long-term sort of national project, but I am in clubs like the Outdoors Club and volunteer within my community to take invasive species out of local parks! I've also applied to scholarships catered to my interests (it's never too late or early!)

Hope this helps!
