Is going test optional a safe bet?

All of the schools I am applying to offer me the option of not submitting my sat scores. My sat that I have will likely be a bit below the lower average for my schools, but I am wondering if it would hurt me more to go test optional.

I will say that most of the time if you are missing or lacking in one aspect of your application, you should be doing solid in other aspects. I would also say that academics aren't everything! For many schools, essays are heavily considered, so try to perfect your craft of writing a good essay about yourself. May I ask, how are your ec's?

Hello! Your EC's are great. If you are struggling with grades anyhow, your future essays along with your EC's would be a great match and would look great on your application! This doesn't mean you shouldn't care about grades but you shouldn't stress over them either. Try to maintain a good grade scale and classes that challenge you. If you feel like having that on your plate is overwhelming, then don't be afraid to not put so much on your plate. Keep it up. :)

@AkiraT Hello! I am planning on graduating with a 4.0 and generally i think my EC's are alright. I dont think they are ivy league tier, necessarily, but i think they will suffice. I'll keep it brief but my top couple of activities are having a nonprofit that has 20+ international students under it (scholarship program where we pay for 100% of their college tuition - raised about 100k), internship at high level company (tesla-level) where I was interviewed...
