How do I get extra curriculars when I'm homeschooled?
Answered

Recently I've noticed my main issue when it comes to a well-rounded application will be my lack of clubs. I love volunteering and helping people, but I worry that a lack of social clubs will be a red flag for colleges.

Here are some things I suggest:

- Competitions in things you like or are passionate about. Even participating and putting yourself out there is an achievement, and you never know, you might just do well in those competitions!

- Being on a youth board for a company/organization/chapter. Lots of organizations around the world are looking for youth to represent them on teen councils and be a good influence while also making an impact! Do not be afraid to apply or email to get yourself out there!

- Being committed to a hobby. This hobby can be writing, reading, or art. Whatever your hobby is, put it out there! On social media or starting an small, student-led organization to encourage others to do the hobby as well!

Collegevine has a list of ECs for homeschooled students to do which lists more. The ones I mentioned just seemed the most significant! Don't be afraid to try everything on your list.
