I’m a Bahamian student that attend a school that doesn’t offer AP or honors class will I be penalized for this

I’m in grade 11,I have a 3.7 gpa and I am in the top level class that my school does offer we are place in streams based on ability and the we receive on the national exam bjc

No, you will not be penalized. Colleges are looking for students who challenge themselves. You said you are in the top-level class, which means you are taking the most advanced classes your school offers. That shows that you are challenging yourself. So, you will not be penalized because you challenge yourself in areas you can. It would be different if your school offered AP or honors and you didn't take them, but you are challenging yourself to the highest extent you can, which is what prestigious schools are looking for.
