So the University of Michigan and the University of Washington both utilize the same essay prompt.

Everyone belongs to many different communities and/or groups defined by, among other things, shared geography, religion, ethnicity, income, cuisine, interest, race, ideology, or intellectual heritage. Choose one of the communities to which you belong, and describe that community and your place within it(This is the one for University of Michigan).

Our families and communities often define us and our individual worlds. Community might refer to your cultural group, extended family, religious group, neighborhood or school, sports team or club, co-workers, etc. Describe the world you come from and how you, as a product of it, might add to the diversity of the University of Washington.(This is for the University of Washington).

I was just wondering I wrote about the same thing in both prompts and was wondering if that works or if I hould write something else for one of them?

Hey there @Swayam_Jain17!

While you could definetly use elements from one to help with the other, I would recommend writing two different responses (or at least altering one to fit the other prompt). UMichigan is asking you to describe a community you are a part of & how you fit into it, while the University of Washington requires you to consider what you'd bring to the school more directly. One is asking how you are a part of a community, and the other is essentially asking how you can transfer something from a certain community onto a school campus.
