What do the percentages on essay reviews indicate? How does that work?
I imputed a UC essay twice to ensure a good review and first was told that the first reviewer put it in the top 8% while the second put it in the bottom 25%. What do these percentages mean? How should I view them? Are they comparative to other essays or are they representative of something else?

How does karma work?
The system is simple: you receive karma (sort of like a credit) when you help others. If you're short on karma, you can do any of the following to earn more:
- 1 karma for each 👍 upvote on a question you post
- 1 karma for each 👍 upvote on an answer you post
if your answer is marked accepted
- 10 karma for reviewing an essay
- 10 karma if your essay review is rated 5 ⭐️
You can then use your karma to submit an essay for review or guarantee an expert answer on Q&A.
top 8% = better than 92% of other reviewed essays
bottom 25% = better than 25% of other reviewed essays
i wouldn’t try to worry so much about the percentages since they’re so different; as long as you get a couple expert opinions on whether your essay is good or not and you feel like it’s ready to submit, then you’ve done a good job :)
