Should I drop AP physics 1 for regular physics?
Answered

I am a current senior who just started school this week. I enrolled in AP physics 1 thinking it would be easy, however, after our first lesson, it started getting a little bit overwhelming. Just from the first chapter, the rest are going to be harder, and I wanted to know if I should drop AP Physics 1 for regular. I plan on majoring in computer science and wanted to know colleges would care if I drop from AP down to regular.

Any advice will help.

Unless you have a Physics Tutor, you are right, it's going to get harder to keep up and earn a top grade in your class. You have to consider the facts and determine whether you should swap the class for an easier one.

All top colleges care about students challenging themselves and earning top marks but it's far worse to commit to an impossible task and earn a C or worse in the class because of pride or timing. There is no punitive outcome but consider that other applicants may indeed have a more impressive course load than you when applying to the same set of schools.

Best of luck to you.
