Does CollegeVine chancing engine take into consideration the choice of major?

For example, I put "computer science" and I know that this is impacted major so the chances are different than if I was applying for a non-impacted major.

Yes, of course. If you pick CS and are weak at STEM classes and haven't taken a bunch of STEM APs or had STEM awards or honors, you will not have a good % probability score for getting admitted into your college list as a CS Major.

Therefore, choose your intended major wisely. If you go for hyper-competitive majors or programs liks CS, or applying to the Wharton School, the odds are further stacked against you due to the increased demand for the major/program at those schools.
