Extracurriculars for ivy league nursing school?
Answered

I am deciding on some extracurriculars to do and will be going to school for a BSN. My dream school is UPenn. What extracurriculars look best on your application for nursing school?

If there is a Youth Red Cross organization near you, it would be helpful to join. You can also volunteer at a nursing home, hospital, or local clinic to help you prepare for college and your career. I would also suggest joining extracurriculars that demonstrate a strong proficiency in general education classes such as National Honor Society or Beta Club. This may or may not interest you if you are looking for a nursing career, but many Ivy League schools take interest in Speech and Debate.

You should do extracurriculars that sound interesting to you. Now's the time to explore and colleges don't necessarily care which extracurriculars you do, but more of how far you go in them. But if you want medical-related extracurriculars:

- HOSA

- volunteer at a hosipital

- biomed club (if there isn't one at your school, start one)

- become CPR-certified
