How can I strengthen my extracurriculars?
Answered

I am a freshman in my first semester of high school who wants to apply to MIT. I asked CollegeVine's chancing algorithm about my extraurriculars and, as of right now, they're not very strong. I have 8 total extracurriculars and was wondering what steps I could take to get me ahead of the pack. If you have any sort of advice for me, please let me know.

could you list your extracurricular's?

Youtube Channel, Basketball, Boxing, Taekwondo, Programming/Gamedev, Church Volunteer, School Leadership, Christian Club, Chess Club, and Robotics Club. I haven't "advanced" very far in any of them.

It really depends on what sort of extracurriculars you have. Since you're a Freshman, I wouldn't worry too much about it, rather I would recommend you focus on keeping your current grades high and continue working with the extracurriculars you're currently in. If any of the ones you're currently in really interest you, perhaps you should consider running for a leadership or officer position. (In my opinion), that's the best way to strengthen your extracurricular list.

Remember—it's not only the number of clubs/groups you're in, but also how much you participate in each one. Good luck!
