Answered

I am looking for a good college to attend, but the only college I want to go to has me as a 42% chance for admission.

Hey there @lookingforcollege!

A 42% chance is a target/match school for you, as you have a fairly high chance of getting in. If you want to increase your chances at that school, look at their average SAT/ACT scores and GPA, number of AP classes taken, etc. Try to strengthen your test scores, grades, course load, and extracurricular resume to better your chances.

To look for other schools to add to your list, consider what you want to study, where you want your school to be located, and things that are important to you in a school (religious affiliation, dorms and housing, sports teams, etc.). Websites like Niche can use this information to help find schools that would be a good fit for you. I'll link it below so you can try it out!

If I were you, I would definitely look into other institutions, especially if you're looking into a specific program of study. However, if you truly only want to go to that university, consider going to a community college for your first one or two years to help strengthen your application, and then transfer to the university you want to go to.
