I'm currently a sophomore, and I'm wondering how I can boost my ecs or gain individual opportunities (whether it be internships, research, or specific programs, etc).
I have some free time, and I want to fill it up with something that would be enriching.
- In addition, what programs go on during the school year that would be beneficial to do/apply to as someone looking to go into the healthcare field?
Thanks!
If you're able to, I would suggest going to your local hospital or clinic to see if they offer any volunteering opportunities for minors. Typically, it is difficult to find healthcare-related jobs/volunteering as a minor, but not impossible. Also, check out the universities you're currently interested in to see if they offer any internships or camps for high school students interested in healthcare!
I have an idea that will also help you showcase your organizational and leadership skills.
If you are interested in healthcare, you can start a student volunteer organization to provide first aid to the elderly in your neighborhood. And also provide those with mobility issues with access to online consultations with doctors.
If your school has a HOSA program/club, you should join it. Also, you can volunteer at a local hospital and maybe take dual enrollment health related courses at a community College (if your school allows Sophomores to do so)
To keep this community safe and supportive:
thank you so much for the advice!
