Ivy league worthy extracurriculars?
Answered

Hello, I am a freshman hoping to major in CS, and I am wondering if anybody has any good suggestions for extracurricular activities.

Currently I am in:

JV tennis, Youth and Government, UNICEF club, Key Club, School newspaper, Environmental club, Yearbook club, and I plan on joining debate club.

I have a lot of time outside of school, so any large time commitment can work for me.

Thank you so much for your time!

A lot of Ivy's like seeing "spikes" so if you want to apply under CS I would take more CS-related extracurriculars. Another strategy people use is to apply based on their E.Cs because it's typically pretty easy to switch majors at Ivy's. Either way, make sure you have a spike in your E.C.

I find the Math team/club may be something that makes you stick up to schools or even a foreign language club like German or something your school doesn't offer as a class may help. Maybe even start your own club to really stick out. Also i do reccomend getting a part time job to show taking financial responsibility
