Is writing about a sport too basic for Yale's community essay?
Answered

I feel like I can write the most/best content about my sport (swimming) for Yale's community essay, but I'm worried this topic is too basic/overdone for a top school like Yale. Any thoughts?

If swimming is something you're good at and you feel it could add something to your application then go for it. But if you want to make your essay stand out, write about a personal experience. Have you ever won a championship? Is there an adversary you overcame that you wish to share? Those are just a couple things you can write about.
